Extraordinary Country ! !

I actually live in an extraordinary country!

Politicians and ministers of my country do care for me! Whenever a disaster, or an accident occurs, they come and fix it in less than a minute! Who cares if they just put little attention to the general rules, to legal correctness and to the whole boring, useless stuff ? They act, building new towns out of the blue, they take people to an unexpected seaside vacation (and there’s still someone who complains for this! Ungrateful shameless citizens! Communists !) while efficient people simply raze off their old towns. They are so efficient, they don’t even need their unmistakable boss: he’s been the most efficient one, and now he’s just enjoying his well deserved free massage in a beautiful spa.

Yes, this is an extraordinary country: a lot of rich people drive their luxury cars along the narrow, uneven roads of our towns, or sail the oily sea on their beautiful ships, they are our pride and joy! We can only imagine their richness (and our reflected one, of course), and we are grateful for the taxes they pay for keeping our welfare fit! Yes, we can imagine them paying taxes, being happy for having put their money in our perfect banks… Sometimes we just can dream of them paying taxes, you know, going to their favorite Swiss bank would take too much time…. So our genial government (extraordinary minds !) has made a fair deal: “Ok, bring back some of your money home, and we’ll grant you 5% taxes on the loot!” Isn’t it great?

This is an extraordinary country, where business is always family business: Italian families have always been very important in our thousand-year history! A powerful father is a warranty for the success of his children! It’s extraordinary how we can save our time, while we are looking for a job. We needn’t go to the job centre either! We can stay seated and watch the seasons change, quietly, no need to hurry or to send useless cv! Every public competition already has a winner! Isn’t it extraordinary?

This is an extraordinary country, with hundreds TV channels and lots of information sources! If you don’t like a newspaper, you can read another one, as far as it exists… You can buy four different newspapers (owned by one man) and find the same news on each of them, so why should you look for other stuff? If you are tired of reading, after a hard working day, or a jobless one, you can go home and switch on your beautiful brand new- mortgage paid - LCD TV and enjoy your favorite show, where every boy looks like an actor and girls are simply hot, watching them crying and fighting like babies, on their comfortable leather couches, in a first class living room, and so, while you are sitting on an old torn armchair, you can finally fall asleep, dreaming of big tits and happy faces…

This is actually an extraordinary country… the only problem is: I d’ rather live in an ordinary one!

Tutti insieme.

As the saying goes, the shit hasn't hit the fan yet... or has it?
Fabio, you can leave, nobody is pointing a gun at you blocking your way out; it takes a lot of courage, but it is possible. Well, at least you are still an optimist. What I really don't understand are those who see the bottle half empty but, besides complaining about it, don't do anything.

p.s.: instead of richness, I would have used the word "wealth"... pignolina che sono!! :)
