Popping into the latest post of a new blogger friend (Museum) I've found a beautiful lyric by one of my greatest musical passions: Neil Young.
It's not actually one of my favourite songs: because of my age I've got a different (let's just say older) bunch of Young's songs flowing into my mind.
I was born and bred during the fab years of CSN&Y, and Déjà vu is doubtless THE LP of my life.
The sudden thought of that album took me back to those years, and to the music I loved. My bedroom was a typical piece of teenage crap: full of all that "West coast" stuff, like posters with Eagles, Jackson Browne, CSN&Y and so on...
The dream of California was definitely overwhelming within those walls, but it was MY dream after all!
Almost cut my hair is the title of a beautiful song which was included in the album, a masterpiece for every goodwilling guitar player, me included!
Today those days are over, a big part of those dreams have followed on the way, and my hair is gone as well !!
A sparkle of that fire is still burning inside of me, and even though I try to keep it on, day after day, sometimes it seems to chill down in my poor, empty heart..
